A bold statement from Nigerian realtor and social commentator, Oge Nsimah, has ignited heated conversations on social media — especially among the Christian community.According to Nsimah, the marriage choices of high-profile gospel artists like Moses Bliss, Peterson, Jeffrey/Godfrey, and Theophilus reveal a hard reality: men — even those deep in ministry — look beyond spirituality when choosing a life partner.

“These gospel artists didn’t marry the sisters who trek to fellowship, fast for 40 days, and speak in tongues for hours,” Nsimah stated. “They went for women who could offer stability, citizenship, and opportunity.”

Citing examples, she pointed out that these artists’ wives are often financially successful, well-educated, and globally connected — from UK-based lawyers to American realtors and wealthy fashion designers.

Her controversial take?

“If spirituality is all you bring to the table, sister, I pity you. Men marry women who bring real-life value — not just tongues and fasting.”

While clarifying she is a strong advocate for women’s financial independence, Nsimah stressed that many “church sisters” from poor backgrounds remain trapped in poverty because they settle for less and fail to think strategically about marriage.
